These terms and conditions apply to all rentals of bicycles and associated equipment. By booking or using our bicycles, the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions.
The renter is responsible for the bicycle and all associated equipment from the time of collection until the bicycle and equipment have been properly returned. This responsibility includes damage, loss, theft, late return, and failure to return the bicycle or equipment. The responsibility also covers accessories such as locks, helmets, chargers, child seats, and other equipment.
In the event of loss or theft, the renter is generally liable for compensation, unless otherwise provided by applicable insurance coverage or a separate written agreement. For any reduction in liability to apply, the bicycle must have been properly locked in accordance with the instructions, the incident must be reported to the police immediately, the rental provider must be notified promptly, and all keys and locks must be returned.
In cases of negligence or failure to comply with these requirements, the rental provider reserves the right to charge the full replacement value of the bicycle and any associated equipment.
The renter is responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear. Any damage or technical faults must be reported immediately. The bicycle must not be used if it is unsafe for road use.
Repairs or adjustments may not be carried out without the rental provider's approval. Any costs arising from unauthorised repairs or adjustments will be charged to the renter.
The bicycle must be used safely and responsibly, in accordance with Swedish traffic regulations.
It is prohibited to lend or sublet the bicycle to another person, use the bicycle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, use the bicycle for racing, jumping, off-road riding, or any other activity involving abnormal strain, or tamper with the bicycle's lock, electronics, or mechanical components.
The rental period begins when the bicycle is handed over and ends only when the bicycle, keys, and locks have been returned and the return has been confirmed by the rental provider or recorded in the booking system.
Late returns will be charged in accordance with the current price list. Additional charges may apply if the delay affects subsequent bookings.
For electric bicycles and other specialised bicycles, the renter has specific responsibilities regarding the battery, charger, and electronic components. Damage to or loss of these items will be charged separately.
Batteries may only be charged in accordance with the rental provider's instructions.
The minimum age for renting a bicycle is 18. Valid identification may be required.
Minors may only rent bicycles through a parent or legal guardian, who assumes full responsibility for the rental.
The rental provider reserves the right to refuse a rental if there are reasonable grounds to believe that the bicycle will not be used properly or safely.
The rental provider reserves the right to require a deposit and charge the renter for damage, loss, theft, or late return.
Additional charges may be applied after the rental period has ended, for example, in cases involving hidden damage, missing equipment, or additional cleaning.
Use of a rented bicycle is at the renter's own risk. The rental provider accepts no liability for personal injury, accidents, or consequential damages.
The rental provider is also not liable for disruptions or restrictions caused by circumstances beyond its control, including weather conditions, accidents, vandalism, technical faults, or decisions made by public authorities.
This agreement is governed by Swedish law. Any dispute shall, in the first instance, be resolved through dialogue between the parties.
GDPR: Travelshop AB is required by their insurance company to obtain personal information from the customers that use their rental objects. We must in accordance obtain the customer’s name, phone number and email. We must also take a copy of their ID for safe-storage during the rental period. When in agreement to these terms the customer allow Travelshop AB to store their information until the end of the month in which after they are removed from their systems. The ID copy will be destroyed or given back to the customer renting Travelshop AB's objects after the rental period is over. Travelshop AB will never share the customer's details. Travelshop AB will never use the customer's details for anything other than bike rental. As per the agreement with these terms, the customer agrees to receive a singular email regarding feedback.
Bicycle Rental Outside Sweden
Please note that the rental terms and service conditions differ when bicycles are taken outside Sweden, where Travelshop Bike & Experience AB is based.
If you intend to use the bicycle outside Sweden, you must inform us before the rental begins. As our service network is limited outside Sweden, Travelshop cannot guarantee on-site assistance or repairs. In the event of a mechanical issue, the customer is responsible for locating a suitable local bicycle workshop and contacting Travelshop before any repairs are carried out.Failure to notify Travelshop in advance that the bicycle will be used outside Sweden may affect the availability of support and service during the rental period.
